Im Zuge der Nachhaltigkeit betreibt INNOSAFES eine umfassende Umwelt- und Energiepolitik.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, INNOSAFES pursues a comprehensive environmental and energy policy.
Based on the company’s guiding principles and conscious of the need to treat the environment and the resources used responsibly, the management of INNOSAFES has formulated its own principles for environmental and energy policy. An environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 is operated at the Wiehl-Bomig site.
Goals
All activities undertaken by INNOSAFES can have a direct or indirect impact on the environment and can have a positive or negative effect on the company’s emissions and energy balance. Economic goals are defined in compliance with relevant environmental and energy regulations and with consideration given to sustainable production and value creation.

Continuous improvement process
Environmental and energy management activities are monitored at regular intervals through internal audits and measured and evaluated using key performance indicators. A striking example of this is the carbon footprint for the main product, the rollover protection system. This has already been significantly reduced in recent years. One important step in this direction is the switch to 100% renewable electricity from the beginning of 2025.
Avoiding harm on the environment and employees
New products and processes are examined for their environmental impact during the development process prior to their introduction. The required energy and resource consumption is determined in advance, and consumption is recorded and analyzed in real time. Potential for optimization resulting from this or from employee suggestions is examined and implemented in a timely manner.
- Air quality in the workplace is checked regularly, and exhaust air and recirculation systems are equipped with state-of-the-art filter technology and are regularly maintained.
- The use of fresh water is limited to what is absolutely necessary, and wastewater streams are regularly monitored for pollutants and Legionella bacteria.
- Chemical consumption is analyzed regularly, and potential savings are identified and implemented promptly. The responsible use of raw materials, consumables, and supplies benefits the company and protects the environment. All hazardous materials are disposed of properly to avoid soil contamination.
- The recording and monitoring of waste streams reveals areas with potential for future savings. Opportunities for reduction are analyzed and effectively implemented. The impact of our activities on the environment, our employees, and the neighborhood is regularly assessed. Unnecessary or unauthorized noise pollution affecting employees and/or noise emissions into the environment are analyzed and eliminated at their source.
Involvement of suppliers
Suppliers and service providers are required to comply with comparable environmental and energy standards. The company’s energy performance is improved through the procurement of energy-efficient products and services. Close cooperation with local suppliers reduces transport distances from the outset.
When purchasing materials involving energy-intensive processes and thus having a significant impact on greenhouse gas emissions, particularly in the case of aluminium precursors, precursors manufactured with minimised energy consumption are used in consultation with the customer. INNOSAFES prefers to work with suppliers who are currently able to comply with the GHG emission limits of < 5 kg CO2 equivalent per kg of primary aluminium and are actively working to further reduce their emissions. We require our suppliers to source minerals, raw materials and auxiliary materials from conflict-free sources.
